blast from the past!!!

I was at Zellers ( Canada's K-mart) yesterday, browsing the yarn aisles, when I came across this yarn that included a slipper pattern from my childhood, so I've had to buy it! I couldn't wait to get started on them, so after Cari picked up Dylan and the supper dishes were done, I sat down and start them! ugh....what is this stuff made of *100% Olefine Exelon* what the frig is that??? ... how can anyone knit with this stuff? It splits like crazy and feel awful. But I remember these as my favorite slippers, my sister used to knit them every year for Christmas presents. They were so warm and comfy! It is a simple intarsia garter stitch pattern. I will finish them, wear them, and most likely knit them again... just not with this Yarn!

I bought the same thing last year and never finished them. couldn't stand knitting with Phentex and don't like knitting intarsia. What was I thinking? But I did like the slippers when someone else knit them.

A lady I used to work with, her mom used to make these and the lady I worked with would sell them at work. They are very warm. I picked up some of this yarn awhile back myself (not sure where it is offhand) and started to knit a pair of these slippers. I should dig it out and try to finish them, because like you said, they are very warm! I'm with you on the yarn not being so good though...

Also, I've given you an award on my photography blog (http://shelleyslens.blogspot.com). Hope you'll stop by and get it!
